The Journey.

Our Jorney began with Edson Alves and Cristiano Costa at the Capoeira York school (Guardiões Brasileiros). After several years, we rediscovered Capoeira following an introduction to the traditions & philosophy of the game. Today, we are privilaged to have Mestre Joãozinho da Figueira (Capoeira MarAzul) as our reference in Capoeira.

Borracha & Dragão

The portuguese word "Borracha" has the literal translation of "Rubber" - a name that was given to Becky due to her flexibility! "Dragão" is the portuguese word for "Dragon" and is the name taken by Frank who is a fire (breathing) dragon! Both Becky and Frank consider that they continue to learn as they share their experience with those they meet.

Pegadas Na Areia

Pegadas Na Areia means "footprints in the sand." These words reflect our philosophy (what we do matters) and remind us of the good that Capoeira philosophy brings to the community. After the Thursday session, we meet on Friday evenings, to play music, share food/drink and to talk late into the night!
